💙 VOTE TODAY! 💙 After Today Focus On Election Protection!💙
KGT Calls to Action
~ November 3 Edition ~
Welcome to the Keep Going Together Events Newsletter.
Every week, we share actions you can take to help ease harm and suffering in the Charlottesville area community.

It's ELECTION DAY! Today is the last day of the Midterm Election season and the last day to use your power to vote! If you haven't already, please go vote today. Polls are open from 6am-7pm.

Once we get every single voter to the polls by the end of the day, our focus must be on election protection. We encourage everyone to stay relaxed and alert. I found this piece by Robert Hubbell helpful as we head into these important days.

Big breaths, everybody. Let's keep taking action together so we can keep going together.
KGT Events & Initiatives
THIS is the FINAL week before Election Day, and our last opportunity to get out the vote for Tom Perriello.

Voting day information from the

The ACLU is ready to protect every eligible voter's right to be heard, and we want you ready to cast your ballot.

Here are key rights and resources you have when you go to vote:

  • If the polls close while you're still in line, stay in line. You have the right to vote.
  • If you make a mistake on your ballot, ask for a new one.
  • If the machines are down at your polling place, ask for a paper ballot.
  • If you planned to vote by mail but haven't returned your ballot yet, return it in person to avoid mail delays. Check your state's rules to see where it can be accepted.
  • If you run into any problems or have questions on Election Day, call the Election Protection Hotline:
  • Attorneys from national groups and local advocates are monitoring the elections and are ready to step in to protect you at the polls and ensure every vote is counted.
  • Remember, we may not see results on Election Day – and that's normal. With absentee ballots, mail-in ballots, and other considerations, it takes time for elections officials to count every vote.
Stay calm. Stay grounded. Stay determined. We got this, friends.

STAY CALM: GET EDUCATED & BE PREPARED

CALL TO ACTION: SIGN THE PLEDGE

As we move into the last 10 days before the election and the days and weeks following, we are gathering ourselves to be ready to respond to any interference in the electoral process.

On the No Kings Early Vote follow up call last week, they encouraged us to commit to standing up and showing up in response to any interference. Please sign the pledge and stay tuned.

People's Activist Series ~ ICE Watch: Protect Yourself and Neighbors and Record, Record, Record
Thursday, November 5 2026, 6-8 pm
Sojourners United Church of Christ, 1017 Elliott Avenue, Charlottesville

Witnessing ICE activity, and recording it, is within our rights and serves many purposes. We can deter ICE from kidnapping or assault. We can show solidarity with neighbors being harmed. We can document what is happening to our neighbors so their legal team can better find them and bring them home. Come practice these skills, reflect on what might hold you back, and prepare to go one step further into discomfort the next time these dangers come around.
